Renegades ยท Season 28: Lawless
The short version
The current subclass landscape has changed with the Edge of Fate with introduction of the new armor stats which can allow you to lean into playstyles that take advantage of subclass abilities. What typically is effect leans into survivability, movement, and a solid neutral kit to augment your gunplay.
Top of the stack
- Nightstalker: still one of the most effective subclasses to pick up and play because invisibility, strong fragments, and easy disengagement tools lower the punishment for risky plays. You usually can get the first shot.
- Voidwalker: one of the strongest all-around PvP kits. Great movement and its abilities are exceptionally strong. You can end up with builds with multiple melee and multiple grenades on deck. The Nova bomb is still useful as a game clencher.
- Dawnblade: What can be considered as the best pvp class in the game. With icarus dash for free neutral game movement, phoenix dive for healing and cutting vertical space, and the solar kit for either heals, or strong scorching grenades for tick damage. This class has it all and has been meta for many seasons.
Solid
- Behemoth: Probably the strongest movement class for Titans. The melee (which you can build into having 2) is a great neutral game movement tool. The glacial grenade works well as an instant barricade, and the cryo slide is an incredible movement tool. The super, unfortunately, is slow to charge but it is an effective super when you do get it.
- Striker: Knockout provides Arc titans with an incredible close quarters melee option that will heal on kill and let you 1 punch opponents. This class also has the thruster ability to help with movement, a shoulder charge to blink, and classic shutdown super of thundercrash.
- Sentinel: Overshields provide advantages in fights and helps your team mates, surpressor grenades and shoulder charge to neutralize supers, this class is still a very solid pick. It has Twilight Arsenal for insane tracking for a super and can shutdown teams. Also, the bubble still can be used in control points.
- Prismatic Titan: one of the most complete Titan kits right now. You can combine the Solar melee hammerstrike, trigger knockout, and spawn a diamond lance that will allow a player to 1 v 3 and snowball kills.
- Threadrunner: strong grapple movement, awkward off-angles, and constant peek pressure make it dangerous in the hands of players who can pilot it well. With the suspend dive, it can also cut vertical space and catch opponents in a suspend for easy follow up.
- Arcstrider: good movement, good abilities, and solid supers. With blink and the ability to run with Bakris {{exotic-armor:mask-of-bakris}} now this season, you have a strong arc/stasis weapon damage that can be incredibly oppressive.
- Gunslinger: The classic "gun" subclass. Everything this class leans into is accuracy and along with the throwing knife can exhibit one of the best gunplay based builds in the game. With the super Golden Gun: Deadshot, you maybe able to pull off a Seventh Column gold medal.
- Revenant: Good grenades, movement tools, strong melee in Withering Blades, and a fast zone controlling super. The shatterdive is a great vertical space movement tool that lets you get out of harms way quickly in the air.
- Shadebinder: Incredibly strong momentum changer. With freeze abilities and turrets, a shadebinder can turn a 1 v 3 into a winnable 1v1 by chaining freezing and picking off players.
- Prismatic Hunter: fun and workable, especially with grapple and Ascension. Also, multiple radar manipulation tools and ability to slow on dodge on top of that. Many strong PvP zoning tools here.
- Prismatic Warlock: An interesting class that will allow a player to have a stasis turret and hellion buddy. This can allow the warlock to slow and scorch at the same time to antagonize the opponent.
- Broodweaver: New tech in the Weavewalk and glaive melee-heavy attacks with the deimosuffusion helmet {{exotic-armor:deimosuffusion}}, that can easily overwhelm opponents for easy to pick up and win combinations. Can be considered somewhat gimmicky this season but it is extremely effective.
Needs Work
- Berserker: Suspend heavy class that can lean into that aspect of the berseker tool kit. Also, building into Melee armor stat a player can do 1 shot glaive kills by running with Banner of War and ACD Feedback fence {{exotic-armor:acd-0-feedback-fence}}.
- Stormcaller: Utilizing Ionic Sentry can help add pressure in duels and help your team but that alone is not enough to justify the subclass over better Warlock options.
- Sunbreaker: the hammer strike melee attack with Sol invictis and Roaring flames can be useful to kill and create sunspots, but outside of Sunspot shenanigans, this class feels incredibly weak and most of its strengths can be filled by prismatic Titan.
